On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and in my personal capacity I would like to extend my sincere congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia!
Over these years, RUDN University has made an invaluable contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Russia and foreign countries. RUDN University is a leading Russian university which extensively applies modern tools of the common European and global educational space in the Russian Federation. RUDN University has been notable for high professionalism, high level of human and civic culture all these years.
The peculiarity of RUDN University is multinationality and multiculturalism. RUDN University is a special world where students from 154 countries of the world – representatives of various cultures and those who have many talents – study! One of the most important events is Days and Weeks of Culture when the university is immersed in the culture of countries of the whole world for a week. In addition to that, student teams of the Club of the Cheerful and Sharp-witted have been created since 1960s. These teams were participants and awardees of many events conducted not only in Russia but abroad.
Today RUDN University is one of the leading university centres of Russia and the world. It has over 250 agreements with foreign universities and research centres. Over 48 thousand RUDN University graduates, 4,300 PhDs and Doctors of Science work in 165 countries of the world. During 60-year history of RUDN University, dozens of political figures, who subsequently were high up in the civil service in various countries, graduated from RUDN University.
